Tigers V Monarchs – seconds away!

Quite remarkably, and just before the calendar turns over into June, we are welcoming Edinburgh to Ashfield for the first time this season.

We already know the Monarch’s capabilities, and their performances home and away so far have cemented their reputation as title contenders. Of course, this Sunday’s meeting is the completion of our League Cup group stage, with Edinburgh already having done enough to secure a semi final spot.

Perhaps in the normal course of events that would render this fixture as less than attractive, but, in actual fact it is anything but! It is the Tigers first chance to size up to the Monarchs around our own circuit, and that in itself makes certain that it will be highly competitive as we aim to earn back some battered pride having suffered two defeats at Armadale already this year.

Other than new Monarch Mitchell Davey, none of the Monarch’s side will have sampled the newly shaped Ashfield circuit, and that must give the home side a marginal advantage over the opening heats at least.

Tigers will look for an overall improved performance from last Sunday, and look to hit the Monarchs hard in the early stages rather than chase the meeting throughout as was the case against Leicester.

Glasgow will certainly need ALL riders to be on song this Sunday. Everyone has shown what they are capable of in meetings this season, however just not in the same meeting frustratingly!

With the prospect of Screen V Cook, Grieves V Vissing, Wright V Pijper, Jacobs V Davey, as well as other match ups, this derby affair will have interest in abundance.

Will the Tigers bounce back in a confidence boosting Scottish derby victory, or will Edinburgh continue to dominate this League Cup grouping? Whatever the outcome, both sides will be set up to come out on top, it matters, it is serious.

You HAVE to be there to see how it unravels and to lap up every thrilling second of every thrilling lap.
