RICHARD Lawson hopes Glasgow can keep their KO Cup bid on track give them something to celebrate this season.
It’s been a year of near misses for the Tigers – whose two representatives in Saturday’s Championship Riders’ Individual made the final but finished third and fourth.
Lawson was one of them and admitted he was “disappointed not to be able to being the trophy back to the fans”.
But he’s looking to put that disappointment, plus the lacklustre end to the Championship campaign and defeat at the semi-final stage of last week’s Pairs event, behind him in tonight’s KO Cup semi-final second leg at home to Peterborough.
He said: “We’re still in the KO Cup and hopefully we can retain that.
“We have had a bit of a dip but it would be nice to end the season with some silverware and give everyone a chance to celebrate.”
Glasgow have 10 points to claw back from the first leg.
Rider replacement continues to operate for Nike Lunna while Tom Perry is not fit enough to race at reserve – so James Sarjeant once again is the guest of choice.
The meeting at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium starts at 7.30pm.
