A trio of top stars from the Premier League have been added to the line-up for the Peugeot International Speedway Championship.
Argentina’s Nico Covatti, Jack Holder from Australia and Dane Ulrich Ostergaard have signed up for the August 16 event – aiming to take a slice of the massive £10,000 prize fund.
All three have excellent pedigree in the sport – Covatti and Ostergaard are in their first full Premier League seasons while Ostergaard is a seasoned campaigner on these shores.
The Italian started the season at reserve for Ipswich but has swiftly moved into a heatleader position for the Witches following some impressive performances – including a guest appearance for Glasgow at Scunthorpe. He began his UK career in the Elite League with Birmingham.
Holder is the younger brother of 2012 World Champion and current Grand Prix star Chris – and is tipped for the top in the sport. He makes his debut at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium this coming Monday with Plymouth, but is an exciting prospect to see lining up in a field of this quality.
Ostergaard, meanwhile, continues to be one of the Premier League’s strongest riders. In a colourful career he’s represented clubs including Eastbourne, Workington and Belle Vue – and now rides for Peterborough, where he’s the No 1.
