GLASGOW chiefs say a boisterous backing from the terraces tomorrow can help the Tigers make a big noise in the Championship title race.
The Ashfield men face Sheffield at 7pm in their biggest home match so far this season.
The Yorkshire side are top and beat Glasgow 54-36 last night at Owlerton.
It means tomorrow’s match is must-win for Stewart Dickson’s men, who need to pile up the points if they’re to catch their rivals.
The team finishing top gets first pick in the end-of-season playoffs and a big advantage in the race to become champions.
Glasgow are 14 points behind Sheffield with two matches in hand – but a run of home matches in the next fortnight could help them make inroads – with the fans’ backing crucial.
Dickson said: “We’re looking a huge turnout tomorrow to cheer us on against the league’s form team.
“We were close to them for 12 heats last night until their big guns blew us away at the end, with the help of some terrific backing from their fans.
“I know that the Glasgow fans can do the same. If we can hit them hard tomorrow, it could help put us right back in the hunt for some silverware and send a message that we are ready to make a big push in the playoffs.
“A noisy and busy stadium tomorrow would go a long way towards helping our boys – who are desperate to get out and put on a show – and it should be a great spectacle.
“The forecast looks terrific and the stage is set for us to try and bring their unbeaten run to an end – come along and help to push us over the line.”
The club has reminded fans that the free voucher scheme – which allows existing fans to bring along new fans for one meeting free of charge – is still in operation.
On the track, Dickson has called in Scunthorpe’s Ryan Douglas as a guest for Dan Bewley – who’s on duty with the Great Britain squad in the World U21 Team Cup final in Poland.
The home team will continue to operate rider replacement for the injured Nike Lunna.
