TEEN sensation Dan Bewley said he enjoyed one of the nights of his life as he went through the card to give Glasgow a huge Scottish derby win.
The 17-year-old bagged a paid 15-point maximum as the Tigers romped 57-34 against the Monarchs to go joint-top of the SGB Championship.
Bewley managed to take the scalps of internationals Sam Masters, Erik Riss and Ricky Wells as he faced his former club for the first time.
His night was rounded off with a sublime pass on Mark Riss in heat 14 to send the Ashfield faithful wild.
The Cumbrian said: “It’s one of the best meetings I’ve ever done. It’s a bit different because I was winning races and it felt like I deserved to win them.
“I’m really happy with how tonight has gone and it’s really pleasing to get everything going right here for a change.
“This is my first maximum in this league and hopefully I can get another soon.
“Over the last couple of weeks I was starting to ride better but my starts seemed to be getting worse – but I’ve pulled it all together tonight.
“I just tried to forget about racing against Edinburgh because I had a great time there and I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for them, so I owe them a great deal and I’m thankful to them. I just tried to forget about it and treat it like a normal meeting.
“It was good to get a win over Sam on the other team because last year I looked up to him a lot and I still do.”
The meeting was tight early on but Glasgow bagged three 5-1s in the middle of the match to take the initiative and never looked back.
Richie Worrall also went unbeaten all night, while Richard Lawson had just one blemish on his scorecard but came out on top with 14 points.
The only black spot for the home team was the withdrawal from the meeting of Finnish flyer Nike Lunna, who took two spills in two separate runnings of the same race and suffered a hand injury.
He was due for a visit to hospital to have an x-ray.
Glasgow are next in action away at Ipswich on Thursday.
Tigers scorers: Richard Lawson 14, Dan Bewley 13+2, Richie Worrall 13+2, Aaron Summers 10, Tom Perry 7+2, Jack Smith 0, Nike Lunna 0 (withdrawn).
