Summers Lovin’ His Chance of Glory

He is Glasgow’s man of the moment – and now Aaron Summers has signed up to compete in next month’s Peugeot International Speedway Championship.

The Tigers skipper is in his best form of the season – posting three double-figure scores before a three-ride maximum in Sunday’s curtailed match against Peterborough.

Now, he’ll take on some of the Premier League’s best riders and up-and-coming international stars for his share of the £10,000 prize fund.

The 27-year-old Australian said: “It’s a good meeting that they’re putting together. They asked me a little while ago if I’d do it so I’m glad to be in there and with the form I’m on at the minute, it should be really good.

“Looking at my race times in the last couple of meetings, they’ve been really good. On Sunday I was only 0.4 seconds off the track record and I wasn’t even on one of my faster engines.

“I’m really looking forward to it and they should get a good crowd in too.”

The meeting is on Sunday, August 16 at 3pm.

Already named in the line-up are Josh Grajczonek, Sam Masters, Nick Morris, Justin Sedgmen (all Australia); Ziga Kovacic (Slovenia); Nick Lourens (Netherlands) and James Sarjeant (England).

More names for the meeting will be revealed in the coming days.
