TIGERS skipper Aaron Summers hopes for a slick performance from his side at Redcar tomorrow – to help them book their place in the next round of the KO Cup.
The Glasgow No 5 and his six team-mates racked up a massive 31-point lead against the Bears in the first leg on Sunday.
Although that doesn’t guarantee a tie against Edinburgh, who await the victors, Summers thinks it’ll be enough to see them over the line.
And the Australian – who signed for Glasgow from Redcar in 2015 – believes track conditions will suit the Tigers down to the ground.
He said: “I would think that our lead would be enough.
“Looking at pictures of Redcar last Thursday, it looks slick. But me and Richard did enough years round there and we know a rough set-up already.
“If it’s slick enough, it makes it easy enough to ride, so it might help some of the lads who haven’t been there or haven’t done many laps there.
“We’re confident and the boys are getting things together. We have some things to try and work on with the likes of Nike and we should be OK.”
Meanwhile, Summers is planning to invest further in new machinery as he aims to keep pushing his scores higher.
He added: “It’s my second bike I’m working on. I rode it at Glasgow the other week and it was OK, but I know this track enough where if I do miss the start, I can get some good lines.
“But I haven’t been happy with it. I’ve tried lots of things and they haven’t worked, so I’ll have another clutch at the end of this week and my new engine should be here then too, so that’ll be good.”
Glasgow go with the same line-up as previous fixtures for tomorrow’s trip.
