Having now secured governing body adjudication on the matter, we are able to confirm that we will NOT now attempt to re-stage our outstanding home fixtures against Workington & Berwick, thus now can officially confirm that our 2014 season has ended.
Clearly, having last staged a home fixture on 28th September, it isn’t the manner in which we all would wish to, ideally, bring down the curtain at the end of a full season of racing.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all Glasgow supporters, club sponsors (in particular to Allied Vehicles), stadium staff, track staff, backroom staff and suppliers, for once again backing Glasgow Speedway – we simply couldn’t do it without all of you.
We plan, soon, to bring you news regarding the club’s future, and to meeting with you at supporter events (*see details below of the first STARs event of the winter) during the close season to offer you the opportunity to learn more and discuss further with us.
In this regard, if you haven’t already done so, please do ensure that you have registered to receive our Red Alert e-newsletters which will alert you to any breaking news in the weeks ahead – registration can be completed in just a few clicks from the home page of our website (else email your name to info@glasgowtigers.co).
We realise many of you may wish to obtain a copy of our final 2 programmes (Vs Berwick and V Workington & Berwick respectively), this can be arranged by request via the link on our home page – which entails sending just £2 (includes postage) – via PayPal, else by sending a cheque (payable to ‘Glasgow Tigers Speedway Ltd’) to 4 Cumnock Drive, Hamilton, ML4 9DN. Apart from keeping your programme collection in order, these final season editions also contain some interesting reflections and a personal message from Gordon Pairman which will be of significant interest to supporters.
Finally for now, we are looking for some volunteers to assist us at the stadium this Sunday from 9am please. The work will entail some lifting, and is expected to take several hours, however we will reward your kindness in the form of our warmest appreciation as well as some hot food / drinks! If at all possible, please send a quick email to pre-advise if you will be able to help on Sunday.
Once again, “thank you” for being part of Team Tiger.
