Glasgow Tigers and Edinburgh Monarchs are delighted that top DJ George Bowie will
present the British League Cup trophy at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium this Sunday.
George has been presenting Clyde 1’s popular breakfast show since 1996 and also hosts the popular GB Experience Show on Saturday nights.
Having such a household name from Scotland’s number 1 commercial radio station is another reflection of the comeback speedway is making as a sport. George was delighted to be asked to present the trophy, especially when Scotland’s two professional speedway teams have both made it to the final of this major British competition.
“I’m really up for the match. Being a Glasgow boy through and through I’m a bit biased as to who I want to win”, commented George.
“I remember when I was kid Glasgow were the Radio Clyde 261 Tigers so I’ve always been familiar with what you do but this will be my first live event. Looks like the sun is going to be out too so hopefully it’ll be a great day and a home win.”
With packed crowds expected and what’s sure to be a heated clash between the two Scottish rivals, this Sunday’s cup final decider is certain to be one to remember.
