Nick Morris will bring a new engine to Glasgow next week in a bid to step up his game in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old Aussie has been in good form for the Tigers this season, topping the averages and claiming the No 1 racejacket.
However, at Elite League level, he’s made greater strides – so much so that he has recently raced as Swindon’s No 1 and was selected for his country’s World Cup team earlier this month.
And after his Tigers team manager Stewart Dickson said on Sunday that he wanted to see Morris stamping his authority earlier on in meetings at this level, the former Somerset man is now preparing to bring new machinery north.
Morris said: “I’ve had a few bad ones in the Premier League – I’ve been going better in the Elite League.
“I’ve got different bikes in Glasgow than in Swindon, so I’m just trying to get them all set up well.
“I’ve just got some new engines from Peter Johns and I have them at Swindon. I’ve been using some older engines at Glasgow but I’m bringing one of the new ones and I’m going to start using that, because I don’t feel as if I’ve had enough speed there recently.”
Morris and the Tigers head to Peterborough tonight where their Premier League clash will feature live on Sky Sports.
Glasgow are aiming for their fourth away win in a row and it’s a challenge Morris is relishing.
He said: “It’s a pretty cool track. I’ve had some good ones there and some bad ones, but hopefully we can go and have a good one. The team are going pretty well at the moment. We’ve had a few away wins and some good meetings, so I’ll be looking forward to getting another good result.
“I don’t know much about the Peterborough team but every team is good at home so it’s not going to be easy. I’m sure we can go down there and fight all the way, and I’m sure if we all do what we can do, we’ll get a good result.”
