Tigers chief Stewart Dickson is looking forward to the business end of the season as his side prepares to do battle on two fronts.
Glasgow face Edinburgh over two legs in the League Cup final next weekend – the biggest clash between the sides in more than two decades.
Dickson’s men go to Armadale next Friday before welcoming the Monarchs to the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium on the Sunday.
Then, the following weekend, Glasgow travel to Plymouth on the Friday night in the first leg of their Premier League play-off quarter-final, with the second leg two days later.
It’s hoped that the Tigers will come away with at least one piece of silverware and the Glasgow team manager can’t wait go get going.
He said: “It gets exciting for the riders, the fans, everybody – because you know you’re going to get a result over two meetings. We’ve been talking about it all year – it’s time to get down to business now.”
Dickson believes his men have missed out on vital league points on a few occasions, but insists that on their day, they’re a match for anyone – and he wants to see all his men performing at the same time now.
He said: “I wouldn’t say I was pleased with third place but I think it’s a reasonable effort. I don’t think we should have lost at home to Somerset in the meeting that we did, and the Workington one away from home, we let that slip through our fingers.
“I was aiming for higher than third but I think third is still a decent return, particularly with a couple of injuries here and there, and we’ve been inconsistent most of the year.
“But I know on our game, we can give anybody a match. Let’s hope we’re all firing at the one time when it matters – and that’s just round the corner.”
