CROCKED Glasgow star Nike Lunna could be set for a return to track within days.
The Finn may make his comeback from injury against Edinburgh at Armadale next Friday.
Lunna, 19, has been out for a few weeks after breaking his hand in a fall at Redcar, having raced in five meetings with the injury.
It was anticipated that he could be missing until at least the end of July, but he has a visit to the doctor on Friday. And if he receives the all-clear, he’s targeting a return in the Tigers’ KO Cup first leg against the Monarchs on July 15.
Lunna will come back into the Glasgow team at reserve, after Coty Garcia moved into the main body of the team. His average is now 4.21, compared with Lunna’s four points.
Team boss Stewart Dickson has been hunting a short-term replacement for his sidelined star but has found his options limited. It means that the Tigers will have to find a guest for Sunday’s visit to Scunthorpe – Lunna’s former home track.
He said: “It isn’t ideal, but with the spirit we have in the camp, we’ve always got a chance.”
