RICHIE Worrall and Coty Garcia starred as Glasgow booked their place in the next round of the KO Cup with their first away win of the season.
The duo bagged six wins or paid wins between them to help the Tigers to a 50-40 win – 100-69 overall.
It was also a good night for Finnish star Nike Lunna who got 7+1 including an impressive heat one win over Bears No 1 Lasse Bjerre.
Former Glasgow man David Bellego was in stunning form, scoring 14 and leading a late fightback from his team – which ultimately came about a dozen races too late.
It means the Tigers face Edinburgh next in their quest for cup glory.
Team manager Stewart Dickson said: “It was pretty comfortable. We started very well which I think killed the tie – if there was ever to be a contest over two legs.
“We weren’t at our best but we got the win, which was pleasing for our large travelling support that we took down again.
“I don’t think we were firing on all cylinders but a special mention goes to Richie Worrall and Coty Garcia.
“Coty got his first nominated heat 15 ride – I thought we would reward him. Unfortunately he didn’t get any points in it but he deserved the outing and better riders than him have finished last in 15. They’re tough races.
“Overall it’s job done, there were no injuries, and we can look forward to Sunday and Monday against Newcastle.”
Dickson was pleased to break the side’s duck of not having won an away fixture yet in 2016.
He added: “You get used to winning, and when you’re getting beat you get used to losing. We want to get into the winning habit.
“We won at home on Sunday, we’ve won again tonight and we’ll hopefully win again this Sunday to keep the confidence high.
“We’ve got different guys popping up at different times and scoring, which is also pleasing as well – the points are spread through the team.”
Next up are Newcastle Diamonds in the Premier League at 3pm on Sunday at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium.
Tigers scorers: Richie Worrall 13, Coty Garcia 9+1, Richard Lawson 8, Nike Lunna 7+1, Aaron Summers 7+1, Ben Barker 4+2, Danny Ayres 2+1.
