Looking back at the 2022 season we’re reasonably happy with where we finished, in that we kept up our 100% record of making the playoffs since our first season at the helm in 2015. We had some memorable victories on the road and witnessed some unbelievable racing at home.
Things were looking pretty good for us until we were hit with some injuries. It’s part of speedway and it happens to most teams at some point in the season, but I think it’s fair to say that we’ve had our fair share of bad luck when you look over the last few years. Whilst we battled on, we knew it was going to be incredibly tough for us when Ulrich was ruled out for the season.
Yet again the support both home and away was outstanding and I do genuinely believe we’ve got the best and loudest travelling support in speedway, so thanks to everyone who came to support us in 2022.
We’re incredibly excited about the 2023 season, having assembled a team of real racers, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to Ashfield when the new season starts.
