We are now able to announce that we will stage one final meeting this season on Sunday, 27th October with tapes-up at 2:30pm.
The meeting will be multi-purpose in so much as it will be used to invaluably boost our fence fund, will provide Glasgow Speedway with an appropriate opportunity to bid farewell and thanks to James Grieves, and will also act as an enjoyable way to bring down the curtain on 2013.
Given its purpose, and the time in hand to build up to it, we would encourage that you help us to make the day a real celebration with a big crowd packed in to enjoy their final speedway fix of the year and, at the same time, really bolstering our fence fund. Please note that given its purpose, season tickets will be invalid for this meeting.
In what will be his final appearance in a long and successful career, James Grieves will lead a Glasgow select into battle against a ‘Rest of the World’ team with Craig Cook leading the opposition on the day.
We are also delighted to confirm the Ashfield return of Josh Grajczonek and Nick Morris who will both return to their British Speedway origins to support the Tigers through offering their services on the day.
Steve Lawson track return!
In addition to the main event meeting itself, fans will also have the absolute pleasure of taking a trip down memory lane courtesy of the club’s all-time highest points scorer, club legend Steve Lawson who will perform a couple of demonstration laps around Ashfield on the occasion of his former team mate’s official retirement.
If you’re too young to remember Steve Lawson grace the stripes, or want to step back in time to your younger years, make sure you’re at Ashfield a week on Sunday (27th) to see the great man return to track action.
