GLASGOW No 1 Craig Cook says he’s feeling more comfortable on the bike as he heads into his home Grand Prix today dreaming of glory.
The Englishman takes to the shale at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium at 5pm – just 24 hours before making his Tigers debut at Scunthorpe.
It’s the first time the club has had a representative in a World Championship event for decades.
Although he’s only scored nine points in the series so far, Cook had his best round last time out and looked much more on the pace in the latter stages of the meeting in Sweden.
It’s given him confidence heading to the Welsh capital and he’s put everything into making sure he can compete on the day.
He said: “There would be no better place than to have a really good GP than in front of home fans.
“I’ve got two of my mechanics over from the Czech Republic to help me with the GP.
“They flew in at the weekend to get the bikes ready and get everything prepared, and hopefully we have a good GP.
“We made some changes halfway through the Swedish GP and for the meeting at Belle Vue the following Monday. It was just something so simple we changed – we didn’t even realise that we had changed it.
“We went back to what we were doing and it’s completely changed the characteristics of the bike, and it feels good to find something that is going to help me get back to my form of previous years.
“I felt much more comfortable on the bike in the last couple of meetings and I hope this is the start of good things to come.”
