Garrity Go for Glasgow

Glasgow v Rye House 31.08.14Sheffield star Jason Garrity will become a Glasgow Tiger for one day only on Sunday when he steps in for Nick Morris, who is taking part in the Speedway World Cup.

The Tigers No 1 will be with the Australia team ahead of their meeting at King’s Lynn on Monday night.

Englishman Garrity, who was on top form for his own club against the Tigers at Owlerton last night, will guest in the No 1 slot for the visit of Scunthorpe in the Premier League.

The Scorpions will also have a guest at No 1 – the formidable Ben Barker – in place of the injured Josh Auty. In addition, they will boast Ashfield expert and former Tiger Theo Pijper.

Confirmed Positions

Richard Lawson will slot in at No 3 for the Tigers with Kozza Smith racing at 4 and skipper Aaron Summers at 5.

Glasgow No 2 Dimitri Berge rode with Pijper last season and also faces the Dutchman on the long track circuit.

Berge, 19 – who scored four points at Sheffield last night – said: “Theo is a good guy. I’m still friends with him, but I can beat him.

“I’m not yet satisfied with how my season has gone so far. But I’m happy to be at Glasgow.

“My aim now for our away matches is to be as good as in my home meetings. I will try hard to score more points and help Glasgow win the league.”

The Tigers visit Plymouth tonight in another crunch league encounter.
