Aaron Summers was the big winner as Glasgow gave out their awards for the 2015 season on Saturday night.
The club’s annual dinner dance attracted a bumper turnout of 180 people. Together with club officials, fans celebrated a season in which significant progress was made both on and off the track – with the team making two national finals.
Captain Summers, 27, took both the Home and Away Rider of the Year gongs for his spectacular performances throughout the campaign.
No 1 Richard Lawson was recognised for scoring the most maximums in 2015.
Meanwhile, Tigers youngsters James Sarjeant and Victor Palovaara also took prizes on the night. Sarjeant was named Young Rider of the Year, while Palovaara took the prize for most bonus points.
Alison Chalmers, chair of event organiser Glasgow Tigers Supporters’ Group, said: “The end-of-season dinner dance was very well attended with a packed room enjoying live music during dinner before the presentation of rider awards and speeches, followed by a disco.
“Club mascot Roary took to the dancefloor and stole the show with his dancing.
“The supporters’ group took the opportunity to present all the riders who were there, team manager Stewart Dickson and Michael and Gerry Facenna with gifts to mark a very enjoyable and positive season.”
The event rounded off a massive year for the Tigers and the focus will soon turn to the new season in 2016.
