STARS including Dan Bewley and Robert Lambert are in contention to appear at Ashfield this summer as Glasgow hosts the U21 World Cup semi-final.
Great Britain, Australia, Czech Republic and Germany have been announced as the countries taking part in the event on Saturday July 14.
It’s the first time Glasgow has hosted an official international meeting for several decades and will see some of the up-and-coming stars of the sport try to book their country’s place in the final.
Cumbrian Bewley – who raced for the Tigers last season – has been one of the stars of the 2018 season at both Premiership and Championship level, while Lambert is one of the country’s biggest talents and could travel north for the meeting – if selected – just weeks after his British U21 Championship triumph.
Glasgow’s own Jack Thomas could also stake a claim for a spot given his good form on home shale this season.
More information will follow once the team managers announce their squads.
