Top British star Craig Cook has confirmed his place in next week’s Peugeot International Speedway Championship.
The Cumbrian, who has been the wild card at the last two British Grand Prix in Cardiff, has arguably been the Premier League’s top man of the past few seasons – as well as becoming an established Elite League rider and appearing for his country in the World Cup.
He joins Sam Masters and Justin Sedgmen in representing the Edinburgh interest at the inaugural event, which has a £10,000 prize fund.
Australian Ryan Douglas, who races for Scunthorpe, had also just been added to the meeting – but last night he sustained season-ending injuries in a crash at Sheffield and will no longer feature.
The meeting is on next Sunday, August 16, at 3pm.
Unfortunately, due to injuries and the demand from the Premier League’s top riders to compete, a couple of others have withdrawn from the field including Peterborough’s Danish star Ulrich Ostergaard, who injured his hand at the Premier League Fours on Sunday.
