Supporters attending last night’s excellent STARs event at the Marriott Hotel were treated to the first team news of the close season as the club continues its build up to 2014.
Making a welcome return to Ashfield, and looking forward to his first full season as a Tiger, is Danish starlet Anders Thomsen who will start the new season at reserve berth.
Making the announcement to a packed room, co-promoter Colin Hamilton advised that Anders was ultra keen to return to Glasgow and that he was already working on being better equipped, and prepared generally, to help transfer his impressive Danish league form to Britain.
In an off track signing, it was also confirmed that Stewart Dickson has accepted an offer to remain as team manager in 2014.
Dickson, who of course steered the club to its last major success in 2011, is providing full input into team building matters with the club currently engaged in dialogue with several signing targets as they look to rebuild the top end following the retirement of Joe Screen & James Grieves. The club are hopeful of being able to announce our second signing within the next couple of weeks.
With an expected minimum (assuming no cup run and no play-off qualification) of 20 meetings at Ashfield in 2014, the club have now relased its new season ticket application forms, offering excellent value with all prices frozen at 2013 levels – details of price, a downloadable application form and ability to pay online can all be found via this link (please allow until 26 November for all updates to be available).
With plans now progressing rapidly towards achieving readiness for 2014, the club will issue a further statement this Wednesday morning.
