STEWART Dickson today insisted his Glasgow team “ain’t going away” in their quest to give fans some long-awaited silverware.
The Tigers fell at the final hurdle in yesterday’s semi-final at Peterborough, leading their section for 11 heats before Workington drew level but went through on heat wins when Kenneth Hansen won heat 12 but Aaron Summers came last.
Team manager Dickson was there to witness it and said he was as gutted as the fans on the terraces.
But he says it only makes the Ashfield men more determined to be the ones holding the trophies next time, after coming close on several occasions in the last 12 months to winning their first competition since 2011.
He said: “There was huge disappointment in the camp yesterday after leading our group throughout.
“Aaron was absolutely gutted at the end and that’s twice now after the Pairs two weeks ago. To not be in the final today is still as sore this morning.
“I went round and spoke with our supporters yesterday who again travelled in great numbers to Peterborough to cheer the team on. I am a supporter so I know how they feel.”

Glasgow have a big week coming up as they travel to Berwick and Redcar on Wednesday and Thursday in the Premier League before taking on Edinburgh at home next Sunday in the KO Cup quarter-final.
They’re set for a boost with the return of Nike Lunna at reserve after several weeks out with a broken hand.
Dickson said: “Nike has a spin in Finland today and is due back in Britain on Tuesday. We have missed his scoring potential with his move to reserve and to have all seven back in the red and white is a boost as we head to Berwick and Redcar this week.
“The support has been fantastic home and away this season and we are all determined to give everything we have to go one step further than last season.
“The further you get in competitions, the harder it is to take when you lose out. We have three massive meetings this week ahead of us so we cannot dwell on yesterday’s heartache, it’s gone now – it’s what we do from Wednesday onwards that now counts.
“We will keep banging the drum, we will keep giving our all, as I can assure you all that we ain’t going away.”
The Tigers’ Richard Lawson and Richie Worrall will line up at Peterborough today, from noon, in an individual meeting which precedes the Fours final – part of the new format of the weekend-long event.
