RICHIE Worrall narrowly missed out on winning the individual meeting that preceded today’s Premier League Fours final – when he was disqualified for knocking off his twin brother!

The Glasgow Tigers No 3 – racing after the club’s disappointing exit in yesterday’s Fours qualifier – got to the final having made the cut in his section and then won his semi-final.

Despite making the start in the big race, he was quickly passed by his three opponents, including ex-Tiger Ben Barker. But Worrall then fought back and battled to the front with a great move in the opening lap.

However, sibling Steve then challenged him for the lead before going down – leading to Richie’s disqualification from the race.

The re-run was won by Ryan Douglas of Scunthorpe.

Glasgow’s other representative in the meeting, Coty Garcia – who was in instead of Richard Lawson – ended his four qualifying races, and the meeting, on two points.

The Fours championship was eventually won by Plymouth Devils ahead of Workington, hosts Peterborough and Berwick.
