GLASGOW are aiming to keep their SGB Championship title rivals at a distance during a huge weekend of SGB Championship action.
The Tigers host Newcastle tpnight, with their two closest challengers at the top – Scunthorpe and Edinburgh – also racing in home fixtures.
Those two sides, along with fourth-placed Leicester, race again tomorrow as the league table begins to take shape.
A win for Glasgow would ensure they remain at least three points clear at the summit for a minimum of 24 hours.
Cami Brown’s side are looking to bounce back from a late defeat away to Eastbourne on Sunday in front of a limited number of fans at the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium.
Brown says the backing of the supporters has been a huge boost.
He said: “The response we’ve had from the fans this season has been incredible.
“The fact we had a group of them coming all the way to Eastbourne on Sunday proves that we’ve got some of the best in the country. I personally thanked them at the end of the meeting for their brilliant backing, despite a tough meeting.
“It’s been a real buzz for me to see supporters inside the stadium again on a Friday night and I know the boys get a real boost from it.
“Meetings like Eastbourne where you lose late on are always hard at the time, but on reflection we fought well and came close at a very tricky track.
“I’ve said all along that if we can all click at once we can give someone a real going over – hopefully we can set the tone for the rest of our season by doing that against Newcastle tomorrow night.”
