TIGERS AIM TO GO OUT “ON A HIGH”

GLASGOW boss Cami Brown wants his side to go out “on a high” in the Scottish Cup.

The Allied Vehicles Tigers face Edinburgh at Armadale tonight for the final fixture of the campaign.

Brown’s side lost the first leg at Ashfield by six points to face an uphill battle to retain the trophy.

Both sides will be depleted with Tigers needing to cover for Kyle Howarth, Freddy Hodder and Mario Hausl.

He said: “It’s going to be really tough after such a poor home defeat in the first leg.

“It’s hard getting a result at Armadale at any time but we also have the task to get 49 points which is even harder.

“But we have two good guests in Nick Morris and Vinnie Foord. Nick was sensational and unbeaten in six rides for us in the league two months ago.

“I do think we have the team to turn this around and win the Scottish Cup.

“It would be nice to go out on a high for our fans. I know they will still come out in force to support us at Armadale.

“It’s been a difficult season for many reasons but if we can pull this off, it’s a nice way to go into the long winter ahead.”

Hodder admits it’s a “tough one to take” after his season has ended with a broken leg.

The battling Allied Vehicles Tigers reserve crashed in the Golden Ribbon event in Pardubice in Czechia on Saturday night.

Hodder, 20, had shown strong progress for the Tigers in recent weeks but his campaign ends on a sour note.

He said: “I suffered a broken femur in the crash and underwent surgery last night. The focus turns completely to recovering and getting myself back to full fitness.

“It’s obviously a tough one to take, especially after what had been a positive season, but I’ll be doing everything I can to come back stronger.

“A massive thank you to Leon Flint, Luboš Vráček, my dad and everyone else who has helped and supported me. It genuinely means a lot.”

Hodder will miss the final clash of the year at Edinburgh and is replaced by Ashton Vale.

Brown added: “It’s a real sickening end to the season for Freddy, we are all gutted for him.

“He’s had a much better season for us and, strangely enough, in the last few weeks has looked like the rider we know he can be.

“He battles hard for everything and has picked up some fantastic points and delivered some match-winning performances.

“The lad is constantly working hard to improve. The fact that he went out to Pardubice to race in the Golden Ribbon proves how hard Freddy and his dad work, to get good experience.

“It’s such a blow for him to end the season this way but we are sure he will fight back from this.”
