Despite the best efforts of the recent cold weather, and the unsuitability of the majority of speedway tracks for safe racing, we are delighted to confirm that all of the Tigers have managed to secure some track time as final preparation for our hectic weekend with meetings, in successive days, at Edinburgh (Friday), Berwick (Saturday) and Ashfield (Sunday).
James Wright had managed some practice around Belle Vue.
Harley, Joey and Joe Jacobs had some second half laps around Berwick last Saturday night.
James Grieves had some Bank Holiday Monday practice in Cumbria.
Henning managed an intensive practice at Leicester.
Joe Screen doubled-up for Elite league Coventry at Birmingham.
.. and the whole team were scheduled to have some behind closed doors practice at Ashfield too.
All have reported feeling good and ready to react to green lights and starting tapes!
Competetive racing is different from practice we know, however at least the team won’t be entirely cold as we enter this weekend’s League Cup action.
A predicted upturn in the weather this weekend, coming on the back of a long speedway-less winter should guarantee us a big opening day crowd on Sunday.
Add in our free gifts to early bird Tigers fans (and belated Easter eggs for early bird youngsters) and a world first pre meeting parade (remember we have a brand new meeting host and presentation to unveil too), our upgraded spectator facilities too all means that you must get there early on Sunday, gates open at 1:30pm.
Of course, we also have a new look Tigers side to enjoy and vocally get behind!
