The Allied Vehicles Tigers have again turned to Scandinavia to solve the gap left by this weeks departure of Anders Thomsen.
Coming in to the side with immediate effect, and lining-up for the Tigers trip to Workington this Friday will be Finland’s Tero Aarnio <pictured courtesy of Dave Payne> who returns to the Premier League on a 5.86 average.
Tero has been riding in Sweden this season and is race ready, and also has previous British speedway experience inclusive of a very good spell at Workington therefore is expected to bolster the teams scoring straight from the off!
Speaking about the capture of Aarnio, team manager Stewart Dickson said:
“We have gone for Tero as he has PL experience and knows the level he has to hit, he will score us points, continuing to use Rider Replacement does not suit us. This signing leaves us just over 6 points with Dimitri now being sidelined and we are looking at how best to cover that”
Whilst Tero joins the side and Theo Pijper will also be back for this weekend’s meetings, Tigers will still operate Rider Replacement at Workington as Victor Palovaara is competing for the Swedish U21 side (alongside Jacob Thorssell and Oliver Berntzon) in this years World Team Final in Poland. Rye House rider Jason Bunyan guests at reserve for Glasgow.
Victor will return to compete in both our weekend league meetings against Newcastle, and Edinburgh’s Derek Sneddon will wear the No.7 race jacket for both meetings.
