We can now confirm that following Sunday’s home defeat to Somerset, the club have reluctantly agreed to release Anders Thomsen from his 2014 contract.
Anders has made us aware in recent weeks that he has been finding it difficult to cover the costs involved to strongly compete in Denmark and the UK. Our several rained-off meetings too have contributed to impact rider earnings.
Unfortunately for Anders the final straw was in blowing two engines whilst guesting for Berwick on Saturday night.
The Club, and some sponsors, have supported Anders in several ways throughout the season however he is not now in a position to compete competitively over the remainder of this season.
Rider and club have parted on amicable terms and we wish him all the best for the remainder of the Danish season. We hope to see Anders back at Glasgow in the future.
We will now look to secure a replacement in time for our visit to Workington this Friday, and hope to be able to make an announcement in the next couple of days.
