With home and away league cup ties with so far unbeaten Edinburgh this weekend, the Allied Vehicles Tigers task has been made all the taller with the enforced absences of our Danish duo Anders Thomsen and Kasper Lykke on Friday night.
Both riders have mandatory returns to compete in the Danish U21 quarter final round at Vojens this Saturday, and therefore are unable to race at Armadale on Friday evening.
Tigers are entitled to cover their absence via use of a Premier League guest and a National League rider, however as Good Friday has a virtually full fixture list involving more or less every other club, there is a genuine shortage of candidate riders to select from. Accordingly, and having exhausted many options, we have opted to use the Stoke pairing of Chris Widman and James McBain.
Both Anders and Kasper are booked on flights back to Scotland early on Sunday, and are fully expected to take their places in our line-up to face the Monarchs at Ashfield this Sunday afternoon.
