Following on pretty quickly from the signing of Anders Thomsen last week, Glasgow Speedway are pleased to be able to announce another team change which sees Aussie internationalist Dakota North become a Tiger for the remainder of this season.
Having previously ridden for Ipswich, this season Dakota has been focusing on British Elite League with Peterborough (as well as riding in Poland), however he has answered our call and is delighted to have the opportunity to now link up with Glasgow.
The move has come about due to Sheffield wishing to recall Andre Compton to their side and thus ending the 28 day day short term contract we had with the rider following his return to the sport following an absence of over 2 seasons. We wish to thank Andre for his efforts during his short spell at the club and wish him well for the remainder of this season and the future – indeed he’ll be back at Ashfield racing against us in a month’s time!
Due to a prior commitment Dakota will be unable to line up for Tigers at Berwick this Saturday night, however he will make his club debut against Plymouth on Sunday afternoon. Andre Compton has agreed to help us out and will race his final meeting for us at Berwick this Saturday.
In another change of circumstances this week, Anders Thomsen will afterall be able to line-up for Tigers at Berwick this Saturday night due to the re-arrangement of his Danish U21 semi-final, originally due to have been this weekend. Anders will of course then make his home debut the following day for the visit of Plymouth who will be led by guest Richard Lawson on Sunday.
So an interesting week of rider movements however one which we feel will further strengthen the team and which sets us up well for the remaining fixtures.
Watch out for our weekend preview soon.
