TEAM boss Cami Brown hailed the “battling qualities” of his side after the win at Plymouth.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers came from six points down to win 50-40 in the opening Cab Direct Championship clash Saturday night.
Brown was also full of praise for guest Drew Kemp, guesting for the injured Kyle Howarth, who scored an excellent four-ride maximum.
It now means that the Tigers have won all FOUR of their away meetings this season.
He said: “Drew was sensational. It’s always tough when you lose a rider of Kyle’s calibre. I thought it was a big blow, especially as Kyle is a former Plymouth rider.
“But Drew did an amazing job. He answered the call at very late notice and then was superb all night. We can’t thank him enough.
“The track was challenging early doors. But the boys began to get dialled in and sort out the starts. They showed a lot of battling qualities.
“Chris (Harris) and Dan (Thompson) were awesome again. But the vital moments came from Ashton (Boughen) winning Heat 8 and then Freddy (Hodder) being the hero again with a big 5-1 in Heat 12.
“Leon (Flint) has had a brilliant 24 hours for the club. He also delivered big time and won the all-important Heat 14 to wrap it up.
“This team is gaining belief every week. The boys are working hard together and the spirit is magnificent. It’s a massive result for us.”
Plymouth initially raced into a 15-9 lead. However the Tigers chipped away and finally took the lead thanks to a Thompson and Flint 5-1 over Nicolai Klindt in Heat 10.
The key moment was probably Heat 12 with Hodder joining Thompson for another vital maximum to go four-up with three to go.
In the next, Kemp and Harris all but sealed it with a third 5-1 in four races. Flint confirmed the win with a super-strong Heat 14 victory, resisting Gladiators’ tactical substitute Ben Barker.
