TEAM boss Cami Brown says it’s “job done so far” after reaching the Cab Direct Championship play-offs.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers booked their place in the top four of the table with a thrilling 47-43 win over Poole at Ashfield on Friday night.
Now it will be all about where the club finish within that top four as they go to Plymouth tonight and Redcar on Friday before a final regular home meeting with Scunthorpe on September 4.
Brown said: “The first task is always to reach the top four and the play-offs, so it’s job done so far.
“It’s a very tough league to predict this season, I said that from the off and away wins would be at a premium.
“Our two victories at Oxford and Workington within a few days swung the balance. But equally the home wins over Redcar and Poole were vital, as was grabbing points over Edinburgh home and away.
“It’s been a bit of a grind. We’ve had to overcome a fair bit of adversity with injuries and then losing Kyle Howarth and Mario Hausl.
“In truth, we’ve had so many of the team in and out of form. The only time I’ve felt we’ve all been on song at the same time were at Oxford and Workington.
“Now we want to keep a decent momentum going with our remaining fixtures at Plymouth and Redcar and home to Scunthorpe.
“It’s good to reach the play-offs, that’s the minimum requirement really at this club. Now it’s making it count when it matters in the play-offs.
“We’ve reached the play-offs for 10 times out of the last 11 seasons which is a decent record.
“We’ve then gone on to make five Grand Finals but only won the title once. That isn’t a decent record.
“This year we go into it on the back foot having to use two guests, those choices will be pivotal on whether we can go all the way.”
