TOP DUO SALVAGE POINT

POWERHOUSE pair Chris Harris and Leon Flint struck again to salvage a point at Plymouth

The Allied Vehicles Tigers went down 49-41 in the Cab Direct Championship clash in Devon last night.

But three heat advantages in the last four races from top duo Harris and Flint helped grab the aggregate point after a Super Heat decider.

Team boss Cami Brown said: “I’m naturally disappointed with the result. We had too many passengers again and that keeps costing us big time.

“But I’m delighted that we managed to pick up the aggregate bonus point. That could be really important and that was our minimum target tonight.

“Thankfully Chris and Leon have been outstanding and they kept us in the meeting and forced it to a Super Heat to decide the aggregate bonus point.

“Our guest Vinnie Foord was also excellent and Freddy Hodder is contributing which is good to see.”

The Tigers moved up to second in the league table with the point gained.

It was a tough night with Harris, Flint and Foord delivering the majority of points. Hodder did also produce a vital paid four return.

Plymouth did move into a 10-point lead after Heat 8 but a vital tactical substitute 5-1 from Harris and Flint in the next kept the visitors in touch. It was a phenomenal race with Ben Barker trying to split the Tigers.

There was drama after the race when Cornish pals Harris and Barker clashed after an altercation.

Brown added: “Chris and Ben are good mates and they have sorted it out.

“It was just hard riding in the race and nothing bad. These things happen in speedway, these guys are putting their necks on the line.”
