GLASGOW boss Cami Brown hailed his side’s “super-strong” performance to beat Poole.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers narrowly held out the Pirates 46-44 at Ashfield Stadium on Sunday night.
Ben Basso and Chris Harris produced the 3-3 to ensure the vital home win after an epic last heat battle with Poole star Richard Lawson.
Team boss Brown said: “We made a super-strong start and led by 10 early on.
“But the boys had a chat and we said that Poole would fightback strongly and they did.
“I was delighted with the way the boys kept pushing. Poole pegged it back but we went further in front again.
“Tom Brennan had a tough night. But he’s had a really high pressure two days after racing in the World Cup final for Great Britain. There’s no surprise he might be a bit jaded.
“But the other boys stepped up. A special mention for Sam Hagon and Connor Coles who came in and did a fabulous job.
“It’s always good to beat Poole. Now we need to kick on and find some momentum.”
