CAMI Brown says Glasgow must step up in their second visit to Edinburgh on Saturday or face another “hammering”.
The Tigers are out of the KO Cup after they let a 16-point lead slip from the first leg of their KO Cup semi-final against the Monarchs on Friday night.
It means their only chance of silverware now rests on the league, with the first leg of their SGB Championship play-off semi-final set to take place at Armadale in less than 24 hours.
The 55-35 defeat – 88-92 overall – came as Glasgow managed just four heat wins in 15 races on Friday.
Tigers boss Brown said: “I’m very disappointed. It’s not that we didn’t try, all the guys tried, but we just weren’t good enough.
“Broc Nicol looked like he was still suffering the effects of his crash on Sunday, which didn’t help. Marcin Nowak couldn’t get to grips with the track – though to be fair, we thought he’d struggle a bit.
“Sam Jensen didn’t have a good night although he got better later in the meeting, and Ricky Wells will admit that wasn’t his best Armadale performance, so we were down to a three-man team.
“I did say to people straight after the first leg that the tie wasn’t over. Why do you think Poole didn’t want to face the winner of Edinburgh v Redcar in the play-offs? They know they’re probably better on paper but you can get badly beaten at Edinburgh.
“Armadale is a very technical track and unless you really know what you’re doing it’s difficult, especially if the home guys get their tails up.
“We go there tomorrow and give it 100%. It will be tough, if not tougher, as Tom Brennan won’t be there – though we have a good guest in Leon Flint. We’ll get hammered if we don’t do a lot better.”
Brown is also calling on fans to rally behind the side, despite the disappointment of the result.
He added: “We put in a hell of a lot of work as a management team behind the scenes, so tonight’s result is not for the want of trying.
“We’re up against it but we’re going to come out fighting. If all our guys could up their scores by just two points we’ll be OK and they’re all more than capable. That’s the way we have to look at it.”
