CAMI Brown insists Glasgow will not be “downing tools” this weekend as they take a break from their SGB Championship title charge to focus on the KO Cup.
The Tigers are aiming to recover from their first home defeat of the season in the double-header against Berwick, starting at Ashfield on Friday night.
Former rider Ben Barker has been called in as a guest in place of the injured Ulrich Ostergaard.
Brown believes Barker will prove a formidable replacement for the in-form Dane.
He said: “Ben and I have been friends for a long time – he’s an ex-Glasgow rider and he always gives 100%.
“He’s been on the phone to me a couple of times today already, so he’s organised and ready to go, and I think we’ll get a big performance.
“We’re potentially going to need guests for Ulrich for the next few weeks and Ben might be considered for those, so it’ll be beneficial for Ben and Glasgow for him to have a big night on both Friday and Saturday.
“It’s going to be a difficult challenge. We’ve underachieved in cup competitions in the last couple of years and that has annoyed me so we want to go as far as we can.
“We won’t be downing tools – we’re going to give this weekend 100% concentration to try to get through the tie.
“It’s a big weekend for us because we want to bounce back. We’ve also been poor at Berwick the last few years, so we want to put on a performance.”
Tickets are still available for the meeting HERE. The match will also be streamed live via Tigers TV.
