TEAM boss Cami Brown admitted it was a “tough night” after defeat at Poole.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers went down 55-35 in the Cab Direct Championship in Dorset last night (Wednesday).
After a strong start, the Pirates took control in the middle section of the clash. The Tigers also suffered another injury issue with reserve Jason Garrad ruled out for the season with a broken collarbone.
Brown said: “It was a tough night and it was always going to be.
“To go to Poole without Steve Worrall, who knows the track so well, was a massive blow.
“We said before the start that we need a good start and we got that. But we lost our way in the middle part. When our tactical substitute ride didn’t pay off, it was a long way back.
“There was a positive in that Matic (Ivacic) had his best performance for us with two excellent wins.
“It was also another blow to lose Jason and I think he’s now out for the season, so we’ll need to look for another replacement.
“Poole are a very good team again this season. Things haven’t gone our way, we just haven’t had the luck, which is what we perhaps had last year.
“We are still in with a chance of getting in the play-offs. If we can make that then anything can happen.
“Poole are there without doubt. Oxford are very close and it’s a bunfight between ourselves Scunthorpe and Workington for the final two places. We’ve just got to hope that we can get there.
“We don’t want to miss the play-offs. That’s not what Glasgow are about.”
