GLASGOW captain Tom Brennan believes Edinburgh will be desperate for “revenge” at Ashfield.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers picked up a vital 12-point win at Armadale a week ago.
But Brennan, 21, warns that the Monarchs will be fired-up when they arrive for the return Cab Direct Championship fixture at Ashfield on Friday night (June 16).
He said: “Edinburgh are a great club who are used to winning trophies. It will have really hurt them to lose at home to us.
“There is absolutely no doubt they will arrive at Ashfield desperate for revenge.
“They’ve had bad luck with injuries to Josh Pickering and Craig Cook. But we must not underestimate them in any way.
“Some of their guys ride Ashfield better than their own track at times. They knocked us out of the KO Cup a year ago so they are capable of delivering big performances.
“It was a good win at Armadale for us but we are not getting carried away. You have to treat every meeting as a fresh start, you can’t take anything for granted.
“We’ve been caught out this season already by Redcar beating us at Ashfield so we have to learn from that.”
Brennan produced one of his finest performances for the Tigers with paid 14 in the win at Edinburgh while Claus Vissing also only dropped one point and Chris Harris was outstanding for paid 13.
He added: “We’ve looked far more solid again and the Redcar performances just a blip really. Every rider looked quality at Edinburgh.
“Only Ace Pijper didn’t get in the points. But he was unlucky to fall while leading Heat 2. We expect Ace to have off nights, there’s no pressure on him and he’s been brilliant all season.
“I think the best part is seeing Marcin Nowak and Lee Complin picking up big points. If our second-strings and reserves perform consistently we will be hard to beat home or away.
“We have all got to be consistent if we are going to win things for the fans. It’s easier said than done but Poole have managed to do it for the past two seasons. They are the benchmark and we need to get to their level.”
