TEAM boss Cami Brown is adamant that the club can build on their Championship success.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers beat Poole on Wednesday night to land their first league title since 2011.
After three Grand Final defeats in the previous seven seasons, Brown was relieved to finally end their title hoodoo.
He said: “We have been working so hard as a club to get the success. It seems to get harder every year that goes past to cross the line and win the title.
“There’s been a lot of criticism thrown at us for being the bridesmaids. But that just served as motivation and it’s helped us in lots of ways.
“We are so happy for the fans. They have been with us through thick and thin down the years. They deserve this success as much as anyone for their loyalty.
“There are people in the club who kept it alive during some really difficult times.
“Then the Facenna family bought it back in late 2014 and since then it’s been a continual upward trajectory. But we wanted that league title, it’s the icing on the cake.
“Now the big job is to retain the title. This doesn’t mean we aren’t hungry for success anymore.
“Wednesday night was such a special feeling. But we want that more and more.
“We’ve now had four cup finals and four Grand Finals in eight seasons. We’ve won the league, KO Cup, Pairs championship twice and had a Championship Riders’ Champion.
“Now we have to build on this league title. We won’t be sitting back at all. Anyone who knows the Facenna family will know that they are driven by success.”
Brown is also delighted that the club have achieved success in such an entertaining way.
He added: “The Facenna family want the most exciting racing at Ashfield Stadium. They have spent over £3million on the stadium and the track.
“We’ve had sensational racing this season and we have won two major trophies. This is such a great time for the Tigers.”
