RED-HOT Dan Thompson admits the club is “very driven” to bring home trophies.
The 21-year-old has been a sensational signing for the Allied Vehicles Tigers with two paid maximums in the past fortnight.
Thompson will aim to keep up that majestic form against Edinburgh at Ashfield tonight in the BSN Series.
He is enjoying riding with fellow Brit prospect Leon Flint and it’s become a potent partnership.
He said: “I do really enjoy riding with Leon. We are still trying to figure out where we are on the track. We’ve had some good races together so far.
“There’s been some good 5-1s but also probably got in each other’s way a few times!
“I believe in my ability and he believes in his ability the same. I think he’s more than capable of popping out and beating anyone, the same as I feel.
“Hopefully we can both continue doing our thing. Get a few more 5-1s and I think we’ll be a danger. Glasgow are very driven to be challenging for the trophies.
“Apart from last year Glasgow were always in the play-offs and finals. I’m desperate to keep pushing and I do want to be on some podiums by the end of the year.”
Team boss Cami Brown believes there is more to come from his side against the Monarchs. The Tigers then travel to Plymouth on Saturday for the first Cab Direct Championship clash.
He added: “It’s been a decent start to the season.
“We’ve qualified for the BSN Series semi-finals, won the Scottish Cup and Chris (Harris) took victory in the Championship Riders’ title.
“The top four are doing their job but the younger lads need to start to chip in a bit more. The lads all need more laps, there’s no doubt about that.
“It’s a tough turnaround. We obviously want to make sure we beat the Monarchs. But it’s vital we start the league campaign strongly at Plymouth.”
