It has to happen sometime, and it may as well happen in sensational style with a Scottish derby win – some would say, a shock win.
For all the wrong reasons the memories of the Monarchs last visit to Ashfield are still pretty raw for all connected with the club, and that’s a memory that we would like to exorcise this weekend by certainly putting in a much improved team performance, and ideally by pulling off the ideal home win which would earn us the maximum boost to confidence.
Is it possible? Can Tigers actually win?
Of course it will again be a very tough task, however we know that as a team we cannot be as bad again, we now have a couple of team changes too which will strengthen us, and we have riders who are determined to put up a much better showing around our home track.
The line-ups for Sunday are:
Glasgow: Joe Screen, Jonas Raun, Henning Bager, Andre Compton, James Grieves, Joey Ringwood & Joe Jacobs
Edinburgh: Craig Cook, Derek Sneddon, Theo Pijper, Jozsef Tabaka, Claus Vissing, Mitchell Davey & Max Fricke
For Tigers, Joe Jacobs will need to pass a fitness test following a pile up on the Isle of Wight on Tuesday evening whilst riding for Coventry Storm. For Monarchs, they welcome back Mitchell Davey into their side following his injury sustained when the sides last met at Ashfield.
Edinburgh will again look to No.1 Craig Cook to win the battle of the club No.1s, whilst Tigers will need skipper Joe Screen to show his protégé who is boss around Ashfield. The battles between Grieves / Compton and Vissing / Sneddon also will be something to behold.

As fixtures stand, Tigers next home meeting will be 28th July, all the more reason to turn out and back the lads on Sunday.
So, this time around there is much to look forward to and many questions to be answered again. The weather is predicted to be much transformed from last Sunday, a perfect day then to roar on the Tigers to much better times.
