It’s another double dose of top line competitive action for the Western Commercials Tigers this weekend with a League Cup trip to Armadale (Friday) followed by a Premier League battle with defending champs Scunthorpe at Ashfield on Sunday.
With the feel good factor very much back at Ashfield given the amazing thrill-a-minute racing this season, and the battling qualities within the Tigers side, we are certain that Sunday’s clash is already a very much awaited event.
The Scorpions, who didn’t manage a win at Ashfield last season en route to their title triumph, have had a slow start to their title defence having only taken 4 points from their opening 3 home meetings in this year’s campaign. However, within their side they have several quality and highly capable riders who will be expected to push our Tigers man for man on Sunday.
Tigers team manager Sean Courtney has switched a couple of riders for Sunday (this won’t apply for our visit to Armadale on Friday night) with a view to trying to squeeze out a few more points and perhaps assist a little in confidence terms.
The full line-ups for Sunday are:
Glasgow: Joe Screen (C), Henning Bager, James Wright, Joey Ringwood, James Grieves, Harley Horwood, Joe Jacobs
Scunthorpe: Josh Auty, Thomas Jorgensen, Michael Palm Toft, Ashley Birks, David Howe (C), Ryan Douglas, Lewis Blackbird
Can the Tigers cope with the Scorpion force?
Can Tigers new boys maintain their excellent early season form around Ashfield?
Will the Tigers continue to frustrate the fixture compilers by unexpectedly winning our tough assignment of early season visitors?
Any supporters hoping to fly the club colours by sporting our new logo/clothing at Somerset & Cardiff later this month should note please that they may have to order (with deposit or payment in full) their items from the Tigers merchandise stand this Sunday in order to guarantee delivery in time for end of the month.
Definately another NOT TO BE MISSED date for your diary, see you there!
