After the tension, excitement and eventual disappointment of Sunday when Tigers came so very close to creating a shock result and end our run of losses, it is very much a case of business as usual this week.
Tigers travel to complete our away league fixtures tomorrow night as we head to play-off chasing Redcar Bears.
Buoyed by Sunday’s battling performance the Tigers will head to Cleveland with an air of improved confidence, and in the knowledge that the Bears’ form has slipped a little in recent weeks.
Following his fall on Sunday, unfortunately Joey Ringwood will not be fit to ride at Redcar and is taking a few days to shake off some aches and pains with a view to returning to the saddle again on Sunday.
Taking Joey’s place in tomorrow night’s line-up is National League Kent Kings rider Ben Morely, who scored 7 points for Rye House at the weekend.
Tigers fans need not have any injury concerns over Anders Thomsen who was in the wars on Sunday, he blasted back in spectacular fashion to top score (with 16 points) in a Danish Super league meeting on Monday.
This Sunday will offer the final chance to purchase/order Sports Dinner tickets in person ahead of the event itself on Saturday, 31st August.
Negotiations with the Marriott hotel have now allowed us to now reduce ticket prices to £35 to cover the evening’s entertainment – click here to be reminded as to the format and content which you can enjoy on the night.
Please be assured that this is a very important fund raising event for the club as we set out, with your support, to fund the purchase / installation of a protective ahead of next season.
Remember too that the Growlers Club members are planning a sponsored walk –‘Young Tigers Walk for the Fence Fund’ – to take place at the track ahead of our race meeting on 1st September.
If you do wish to make a donation to the fence fund, then the Growlers sponsored walk is as good a way as any – please speak with STARs Chair Alison Chalmers (who stands next to the steps leading to the front of the main stand) who will note your pledge, else contact Growlers via email to growlersclub@hotmail.co.uk
It is also our intention to publish a totaliser to help monitor funds raised through such initiatives. More details shortly.
<Apologies for the loss of some recent website content, and absence of a meeting report from Sunday, this has been due to some technical issues which have only now been resolved>
