With the calendar now having clicked into November (hope your Halloween was suitably spooky and your Fireworks night went off with a bang!) we are already well and truly now well into planning and action mode as we head on towards the brand new speedway season, somewhere around just 20 weeks away!!
Dear Tigers fan
We are again planning a working party at Ashfield this coming Sunday (11th Nov) from 10:00am with a variety of remedial tasks to be done around the stadium and track.
Please note that it is not all heavy duty work either, so all are welcome and all will be found something appropriate to do! It would be helpful if volunteers could bring a shovel, brush and/or implements for cutting back vegetation. In return, the club will again provide some hot food and drinks as a gesture of appreciation.
Eyes, as well as thoughts, are already now turning towards the forthcoming British Speedway Promoters Conference being staged over the weekend of 16th, 17th & 18th November.
This years event will be a significant one for the new era Tigers management as they seek formal acceptance by the sports governing body prior to being able to participate in the ensuing debate as well as contribute to the decisioning around season 2013.
With some concerning news coming out from certain clubs, at all levels of the sport in this country, this years annual conference is certain to be as important as any in recent years, and therefore it will be critical that Glasgow Speedway have a voice in events.
We will bring you all the conference news, straight to your inbox, just as soon as we can upon the conclusion of this years AGM, and thereafter will share some Glasgow Speedway thoughts on what has been agreed.
Meantime, the STARs group have announced that the first of this winters supporter events will be held on Saturday, 24th November with the event making a return to Firhill Stadium where the very first STARs events were held back in the winter of 2006.
It has been confirmed that Alun (Rosco) Rossiter, team boss of newly crowned Elite League champs Swindon, will be one of the guests. You will need to come along in person to see if anyone else get a word in or if Alun gets a bit emotional again!
We will include more details, hopefully in next weeks newsletter as regards admission prices, start time and further guest names. So, why not make a point now of booking the event into your diary as it is also likely that the new Glasgow Promotion will deliver some updates as to progress on various fronts and perhaps be in a position to announce our first signings for 2013, more detail to follow in the lead up to the 24th!
One certainty for the STARs event is that supporters will be able to pick up, and submit, Season Ticket Application forms for 2013. Pricing information will be released shortly (and certainly before the STARs event) however we can assure you that once again our season tickets will offer tremendous value for money and perhaps more so given the various changes we are looking to deliver both on and off track.
It is our intention this year to offer the ability to purchase season tickets online via the clubs Official Website http://staging-glasgowtigers-org1.stormpr.uk talking of which, we have made a start to redesign our website and make it a much more enjoyable and informative way of keeping in touch (in conjunction with this newsletter of course!) with all things Tigers.
As we have committed to, we will keep in touch with you during the winter months to share news of signings, supporter events and everything significant as the club heads towards a highly exciting 2013 season.
We want you to follow, and support, us on this journey. You can really help, please spread the word amongst family, friends and workmates, there will be heaps of excitement, amazing news and hard work to look forward to!
