TEAM boss Cami Brown admitted it was a “reality check” after a heavy defeat at Workington.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers went down by 56-34 in Cumbria on Saturday afternoon.
It was the club’s first defeat since July 2 and Brown believes it’s a kick up the backside for his side.
He said: “It was a terrible day at the office after such a good win at Edinburgh.
“It’s a big reality check before we go to a massive meeting at Poole on Wednesday.
“We knew it was going to be hard but I think it’s given the boys a kick up the backside.
“The boys tried everything with their set-ups. It was a really slick track, rock hard starts, they were used to them and we weren’t. They were just better than us today.
“I’m not sure whether it was just a hangover from such a strong performance at Edinburgh. But no matter what, that’s no excuse.
“We had a big travelling support which had come to Workington and we’ve let them down a bit.
“We’ll have to address that at Poole on Wednesday and Ashfield against Edinburgh on Friday.
“But this is definitely a big wake up call.”
