TIGERS READY FOR BIG WEEKEND

CHRIS HARRIS, Kyle Howarth and Dan Thompson will fly the Tigers flag in the Championship Big Weekend.

In a new venture, the Championship Pairs and Championship League Riders’ Championship will take place over a bumper 48 hours.

The Pairs takes place at Workington on Saturday, April 5 at 3pm while the next day the Riders’ title goes to Scunthorpe on Sunday, April 6 at 3pm.

Harris and Howarth will be a formidable pair for the Allied Vehicles Tigers at the GT Tyres Arena.

Then Harris and Howarth are joined by Dan Thompson in the red and white stripes at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Sunday.

Team boss Cami Brown said: “We’ve got a very good record in recent seasons in the Pairs with two wins in 2019 and 2023. There’s no reason why Chris and Kyle can’t make it a hat-trick.

“I’m also confident that Chris, Kyle and Dan have got the ability to deliver a result at Scunthorpe.

“It would be fabulous to get a trophy on the board early in April. Then it’s the Scottish Cup second leg at Ashfield on April 11, our first home fixture.

“There’s no doubt it’s going to be an exciting start to the season for the Tigers.”
