New team Manager, New website, New Tigers Logo and much more in this weeks Red Revolution!

Dear Tigers fan
Another working week is almost at an end as we charge ever quickly towards the festive period and a brand new year, we have much to look forward to as we continue to shape Glasgow Speedway for the exciting challenges which await us!
Firstly, and without further ado, we promised you some hot news in last weeks newsletter and here it comes.
Glasgow Speedway is proud, and very excited, to announce that former Tigers favourite Sean Courtney is now back on board as our new team manager. A VERY warm welcome back Sean!
Sean has a very strong connection with the club having ridden for us for eight seasons in total, and is a most likeable guy who brings with him a raft of experience and a network of connections within the sport. This will stand Glasgow Speedway in very good stead moving forward.
We realise that some of our younger, and more recently attracted supporters may not be overly familiar with Sean, however the majority of our fans will know very well the contribution Sean, and the Courtney family, have made to the Tigers over the years.
Here is a plotted history of Sean and his time with Glasgow:
* Was part of the Tigers league & cup winning team in ‘94
* Rode for Glasgow longer than any other club in his racing career (’90, ’91, ’94, ’95, ’97 to ’00)
* Retired from racing in 2000, Tigers 2nd season at Ashfield
* Has ridden for Edinburgh, Berwick, Rye House & Glasgow
* Brother Mark, and both nephews Scott & Jamie, also ridden for Glasgow, all during the Ashfield era
* Retained his active involvement with speedway through assisting riders such as Michal Makovsky and Adrian Rymel at Berwick, and having previously been team manager of the Bandits
We can now reveal that Sean has been involved in discussions for several weeks as regards becoming team manager, and has already had positive input and involvement in team selection.
Speaking about his return to day to day speedway involvement, and why he opted to do so here in Glasgow, Sean revealed:
I am really delighted to link up with Glasgow again after the best part of 12 years. I have always had a strong connection to the Tigers having ridden so many seasons for them, and having formed a terrific rapport with the fans up there.
We all want Glasgow to be a good place to be, to be welcoming to all and to offer all supporters excellent value for money as well as first class entertainment. We want to have a team who will entertain and who will win all our home meetings, with a top six finish definitely the pre-season target.
I would like to help the club to a more secure future, to help it to strengthen its asset base and perhaps to be able to help invest in some young British riders if we can, which in many respects makes perfect business sense.
Today we have announced an off track signing, and whilst we are very pleased to have Sean on board as part of the club, we fully realise that we still have three team places to fill for the new season!
We are taking our time to make sure the last 3 places are filled by riders who really want to ride for Glasgow and will help the club to success on and off the track.
To make keeping in touch with all Tigers news, we are also delighted to confirm that we will, TOMORROW at 10am, relaunch our new look website for your enjoyment and information. An awful lot of work has gone in to refreshing the site and giving it a bright new look which reflects the new era for Glasgow Speedway.
The switch on of the new look site will also allow us to publicly unveil an updated club logo and branding which will become the new standard and image of Glasgow Speedway (our sincere thanks to Allan McDade for his hours of design work on our behalf). We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to super fans Neil Carmichael and Scott David for their collective efforts in the past few weeks on behalf of the club, THANK YOU both.
Make sure please that you pay the new look club website, inclusive of a full interview with new team manager Sean Courtney, a visit during Friday http://staging-glasgowtigers-org1.stormpr.uk
A reminder too that 2013 Season Tickets are now on sale for, with the initial discount period only valid until 15th December. For the first time we are offering the ability to purchase Season Tickets online too, so please make a point of visiting the Admissions section of the new look website for all the details!
Ever since taking up the reigns at the club we have always said we will aim to be a listening club.
In this regard we are planning to conduct a supporter survey, probably to be issued over the festive period when people tend to have more time, which gives you and your fellow fans a chance to air your views and wishes for the club.
We aim to conduct this survey over a period of a couple of weeks, and do so electronically to help make it easier for all concerned. So, watch out for details in the coming weeks!
In the coming weeks and months we plan to not only bring you latest and breaking news from the Tigers camp, but also, courtesy of our new Speedway Star correspondent Bryan Copland, to bring you exclusive interviews with many of the big names and personalities in the sport.
So, lots of things happening, and lots to catch up on. As we keep saying. the journey has only just begun, we want you to follow, and support, us along every step of the way, between now and 2013 and beyond!
