TEAM boss Cami Brown admits his team need to find “something special” after losing No.1 Kyle Howarth.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers face Edinburgh in a crucial Cab Direct Championship clash at Ashfield on Friday night, 7.30pm.
But they will be missing Howarth who announced two days ago he is taking a break from the sport.
Brown has drafted in a strong guest in Jonas Jeppesen to cover for Howarth, but knows that his side have a big task ahead to get results.
He said: “Obviously losing Kyle has been a massive blow. He’s a huge part of the team with his points and personality in the pits.
“We are working very hard on trying to find a replacement, that’s a very complicated and difficult job at this particular point in the season. Our options are incredibly limited with the transfer deadline and riders already having commitments with teams abroad.
“In the meantime we have an excellent guest in Jonas Jeppesen. His last three visits have been scores of 11, nine and paid 15. We need him to hit double figures again to cover properly for Kyle.
“Edinburgh have already won at Ashfield twice this season which hasn’t happened for an awfully long time.
“It feels like we have our backs-to-the-wall a bit. They boys will really need to dig deep and get the win this time against the Monarchs. We will need to find something special.
“Our last home win over Berwick saw our reserves Sam Hagon and Freddy Hodder deliver brilliant performances. We need that again from them and it will be good to have Mario Hausl and Kevin Juhl Pedersen back from injury.
“This is our most important meeting of the season so far. We need the boys to up their level and get the victory we really need.”
