TEAM boss Cami Brown admitted that he was just relieved there were no serious injuries from the clash at Redcar.
In a somewhat unusual conclusion, the Allied Vehicles Tigers missed out on the BSN Series final after conceding more heat advantages to the Bears over the two legs.
The semi-final second leg had been abandoned after 14 races following the nasty incident in which Bears guest Jake Allen’s bike was catapulted into the crowd after a crash on the fourth bend.
At that time the Tigers were losing 43-41 and it was tied at 87-87 on aggregate. The Speedway Control Bureau confirmed on Monday morning that heat advantages would come in to play to decide the outcome.
But Brown said: “I think in these circumstances the result is irrelevant.
“The main thing is that the supporters and Jake Allen are all OK. It was a frightening and extraordinary incident which you just don’t want to witness.
“I’ve got nothing but praise from the way the paramedics attended the scene so quickly and how Redcar handled this difficult situation.”
The club now focuses on the Cab Direct Championship Grand Final against Poole at Wimborne Road on Wednesday and then the decider at Ashfield on Friday night.
Brown continued: “The boys definitely need to step it up against Poole.
“The performances of Villads (Nagel) and Kyle (Howarth) were excellent but we need more from everyone if we are to win the title.
“Hopefully the fans can pack it out at Ashfield and we’ll make it a wonderful occasion. We know how noisy it can be.
“The semi-final against Edinburgh was sensational. Let’s make it a night to remember.”
