TIGERS “EXTRA SPECIAL” NEEDED

TEAM boss Cami Brown admits his side will need to find something “extra special” again at Redcar.

The Allied Vehicles Tigers go to Teesside tonight (Friday) in a vital Cab Direct Championship clash.

But Glasgow go into the crucial fixture without key man Dan Thompson who is away in Latvia racing in the SGP2 World Under-21 title round.

He said: “It’s frustrating to go into another away meeting without our full team.

“I think the last time we were at full strength in an away meeting was mid-May at Scunthorpe.

“Yet during that time we’ve still managed to get results at Oxford and Berwick.

“The Super Heat victory at Berwick on Saturday night epitomised what the spirit of this team can achieve. We only had four of our own riders and we got a result. These boys know how to dig in.

“We are going to have to find something extra special again at Redcar.

“I fully expect the Bears to reach the play-offs and they’ve hit some good form recently.

“Their side is built in a similar way to ours, so this is a fascinating meeting.

“We won the home fixture by six points but I feel we ride their place just the same as they do ours.”
